Party Poker is perhaps the best known name in Online Poker. They took a big hit, along with many of the US-focussed rooms, with the American legislation. They are the self-titled ‘World’s Online Poker Room’, and they have a huge amount of players with a great variety of buy-ins and games to play.
• Hold’Em • Omaha (including Hi/Lo) • 7-Card Stud (including Hi/Lo) There is also a very good range of Sit and Go and Multi-table Tournaments.
The Welcome bonus is 20% up to $100.
Party has people. That is their biggest selling point. The software is good, but not brilliant. The table looks nice and it’s easy to play. There is no control over how your player appears, but most people on the site are the to play poker!! No frills. Additional features Party’s attempt at a Poker School covers the basics, though the tutorial is rather lacking. It’s slow and very thin on actual advice. At least they tried, I guess. The rest of the information there makes up for it, so be sure to work your way through it if you are just starting out. There is also a Poker Trainer that gives you advice on how to play your hands and the odds they represent. There is also an interesting Deal Making facility on the site, which allows those on the final table of big tournaments to agree on a split of the prize money
